Finding the Pathway to Peace

Forgiveness is step one:

Our battles that we fight each day are not against each other. They are the face of the enemy but they are not the enemy. We must remember that. The conflict with someone that we are engaged in is only a symptom of a deeper issue that is lying underneath the surface. That issue normally stems from a previous hurt or emotional injury on either party involved. Forgiveness is the sweet serum that heals those injuries and allows for peace to sweep back in your life. Forgiveness doesn’t say that what someone has done to hurt you is alright but rather that in spite of the wrong, you are declaring that you are not holding it against the person who hurt you. The Lord said “Forgive them for they know not what they do.”  Forgive and you will begin walking down the pathway towards peace.

What are you thinking about?

What we are dwelling on all day plays a huge part in what kind of day we have. If we think about our problems all day then our problems are magnified. If we think about how great our Lord is and how He is working things out for our benefit then our Lord is magnified. Whichever gets boosted in our mind will “win” the day.  Do you want to have a bad day? Think about the bad in your life.  Do you want to have a good day? Magnify the Lord in your life.

How are you talking to yourself?

Do you go around thinking bad of yourself?  Do you tell yourself things like, “Your a failure.” or “Your not smart enough to do that.” or even “There is no way you are ever going to be able to overcome that obstacle.”? We tend to be our worst critics in life.   We must talk to ourselves with confidence and hope, not with contempt or disdain.  You are the one person in life that you CAN control.  Don’t let yourself talk down to you!

What are you worried about?

God has told us that we have nothing to fear or worry about because He directs our paths. Our times are in his hands! With this assurance, we truly have nothing going on in our life that is too hard or too big for God to take care of.  All He asks of us is to give our problems or concerns to Him.
